African Serval Surgery

Had the pleasure of treating this African Serval cat last Friday. He had been turned over to Bear Path Acres Animal Education Center. He basically had a fractured right ankle. They took him into their facility, and gave us a ring to see if there was any hope for this damaged leg. Dr. Roy Barns from Virginia Veterinary Surgical Associates came down to ACAH to direct the surgical repair alongside Dr. Murphie. It was neat to be able to help out such an amazing animal. Took some photos of the procedure. So far he is doing well.

Pet of the Week - Chloe

Chloe was an adorable bundle of fluff when she came to us from SEVA GREAT Golden Retriever Rescue. At eight months old we learned she has an irreversible congenital heart defect that will most likely shorten her life. But, at five years old, she has surpassed her “expiration date” and surprised us all! Chloe has a remarkable strength of spirit and a sweet and loving disposition. She is our special girl.

Meet Marlie

Here is Marlie, our real life Aussie Mascot! She resides out of Crossfit 1607, and tells us she is a cousin of our very own Andie the Aussie. She has lots of energy, but took a time out to give us this wonderful pose.

Happy Endings

Ruger first came to us from the Gloucester Mathews Humane Society with issues concerning his legs. After a very short time, we have managed to reach his donation goal for surgery! He will be having his procedure done by Dr. Young, a neurologist in Richmond.
